Lennons’ MacMillan Bake Off
As part of our fundraising commitment for the year, our staff pulled together on Friday to participate in the MacMillan Coffee Morning by baking some delicious treats to raise money for MacMillan Cancer.
“Macmillan are a source of support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need. They help not only patients who live with cancer, they also help carers, families and communities, and fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals, and build cancer care centres.” Macmillan.org.uk
Our bakers each baked a sweet treat for the rest of the office to enjoy. The selection included red velvet cupcakes, chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake, shortbreads, Italian ciambella and rice crispie and marshmallow cakes. However the undoubtable showstopper came from our trainee Georgina who baked an incredible nutella chocolate cake filled with chocolate icing, popping candy, raspberries and a 3D edible butterfly!
In total we managed to raise £60.15 for this worthy charity. The MacMillan Coffee Morning was a fantastic opportunity to have some fun and treat ourselves whilst supporting this fantastic cause. We would highly recommend any of our friends, colleagues and acquaintances to get involved in future MacMillan Coffee Mornings.
We sincerely hope to continue to support MacMillan in the future by participating in further fundraising events. In the meantime, we’re off to the gym to work off all that cake…
