London Legal Walk 2016
This year we’ve created a team of 5 to participate in the 10km London Legal walk to raise money for The London Legal Support Trust.
Our team: – Joanna Nutchey, Giulia Sinibaldi, Jessica Giddins, Clive Uzoho and Katrina Caraska
Team Lennons will be walking alongside some of the bigger names within the legal industry, such as Lord Thomas (The Lord Chief Justice), Lord Neuberger (President of the Supreme Court) and Lord Dyson (Master of the Rolls) as well as thousands of others within the legal profession to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust – A charity which funds law centres and pro bono agencies in and around London.
What does The London Legal support Trust do?
The London Legal Support Trust are part of a network of seven legal support trusts across England and Wales working with the Access to Justice Foundation to support pro bono and advice agencies.
The trust works to support law centres and legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support. They do this by holding large fundraising events, most notably The London Legal Walk, and delivering the funds to the agencies where they are most needed. They offer their knowledge and experience of the sector to help the agencies to become more sustainable and help to partner them with law firms and chambers who want to help them ensure that the law is fair.
Receiving the legal advice they need makes a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable people, reducing debt, poverty and homelessness, and combatting discrimination and injustice.
How can you help?
As you may be aware, these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation.
You may also be aware of how short these agencies are of the funds required to continue that work. So, if you would like to help, we ask you to kindly make a small donation and sponsor our team by visiting http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LennonsSolicitors
