More cash for the NHS?
The BBC has today reported that Boris Johnson is looking to push for more cash for the NHS (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-42783247).
Dispute resolution solicitor, Katarina Morgan, comments, “It is good to hear that the government is looking to finance our NHS further and hopefully this will be fruitful. I wrote an article at the end of last year on exactly this issue (http://www.lennonssolicitors.co.uk/the-rising-cost-of-clinical-negligence-claims/) and that the NHS is in a vicious circle as regards to funding and clinical negligence claims. The additional monies for the NHS are likely to improve the care and service given to its patients, which in turn is likely to reduce clinical negligence claims. Then the government can start to address that there may be a “defend and deny” culture for clinical negligence claims and act as necessary.”
