Employment Tribunals (For Employers)
If a former employee brings a claim against you, it’s likely that the first you’ll know of it is when you are contacted by ACAS or receive form ET1 from the Employment Tribunal. If you’ve received one of these claim forms, contact us straightaway for support.
These cases can be very damaging to your business in terms of reputation and costs, and a drain on management time. We will work to support you and minimise the risks.
We can meet you to assess the claim, advise you on the strength of your position and whether to offer a settlement, and communicate with ACAS on your behalf. If proceedings have been issued, we can prepare your defence, conduct the tribunal process by managing the claim on your behalf, liaise with your former employee and their advisors, and represent you at the hearing.
Cost orders are only made in a very small number of extreme cases – so regardless of the outcome each party will be responsible for their own costs.
We’ll be entirely transparent about our costs – setting out an estimate for conducting each stage of the claim, with fixed fees where possible, so you know what to expect. If you have a specific budget, we’ll gladly discuss and agree how we can best help you. For more information on our fees, please click here to see our Price Guide.
