Employment Tribunals (For Employees)
Are you thinking of making a claim against your employer? It may not be necessary. Often we communicate with employers and agree a resolution that both sides are happy with or we can advise you on your options and next steps so that you can approach your employer yourself.
It is important that you understand the merits of any potential claim you may have against your employer at the outset and that you do not delay – there are strict time limits on bringing a claim in the employment tribunal.
If settlement isn’t possible, we can assist you in presenting your claim to the Employment Tribunal, whether that is providing ad-hoc advice if you wish to deal with matters yourself or relieving you of the stress and strain by taking on the responsibility of the proceedings for you.
It is important that you check any insurance policies you have (for example, car, house or contents insurance) to see if you have legal expenses cover for employment disputes. It is common that people who have this additional cover are not aware of it, so we advise that you check each policy.
In certain circumstances, we may be able to act on a no win no fee basis, which means that you won’t have any solicitors’ costs to pay unless your claim succeeds. We’ll gladly consider every case – and we’re always willing to offer a second opinion if your current solicitors won’t act for you on a no win no fee basis. There may be a fixed fee charge for the initial review and consultation in some cases, but we would make sure you are fully aware of, and agree to, any costs before undertaking any work on your behalf.
